here's a tip to sooth your sore skin and aid in speedier healing with less scarring..
I apply raw, uncooked aka unprocessed honey to my worst spots before bed time.
Honey is a miracle worker as it has powerful antibiotic proerties, it blocks bacteria from invading the wound and helps to prevent nasty scars from forming.
The key is making sure the honey is raw, uncooked, unprocessed. how can you tell for sure?? the color & texture is a good indicator. Authentic Raw honey will be dark amber in color not the typical light golden color that sue bee honey is known for and the raw honey will be kind of gritty looking and feeling..
... processed or cooked honey has been heated to purify it and make it easy to pour through a teddy bear but heating it causes a loss of up to 90% of the essential enzymes and loses it's ability to aid in healing after it has been cooked.
you can apply this to any part of the body. it will draw moisture to the wound area, seal off air and speed up the heal time and this helps to prevent scarring.. you can thin the honey and make a lotion by thinning it with distilled water and add a pinch of salt. apply lotion with a steril cotton ball.
Remeber do not ever heat the honey.. to store your raw honey,, place it in the refridgerator being sure to seal the lid securely..
When needed remove from the fridge, scoop some of the honey from the jar into a clean container. The cold honey will likely be too stiff and gooey to apply and will need to warm up to room temo before use. remember not to heat it , allow only the honey in the new container to warm up to room temp on it's own . warming to room temp should make it easier to apply.
I swear by this stuff.. it helps me heal faster.
