anyone tried elavil?

my dr. just put me on elavil for depression and anxiety. so far its too soon to tell if its helping the picking and/or depression. it makes me sleepy when i take it and i have dizzy spells throughout the day. does this go away?
i was on lexapro, but it gave me insomnia so thats why he switched me.

I have never been on it, but my boyfriend was on it. I will ask him what he thinks of it and i will get back to you. He was on it for quite awhile, but I can't remember why his psych took him off it.
