Hey guys,
Okay, so I've had two minor slip ups since I started. But yesterday was perfect! Woo-hoo! I saw my new psychiatrist again. We decided that the tally method is helpful. The only problem is that picking is such a deeply ingrained behavior that I need a distraction that will last longer than the act of tallying. So now, everytime I slip up and pick, I have to stop, draw for five minutes, and then, if I choose to, I can resume picking. I am feeling optimistic about this modified technique.
I'm super proud of you girls. Keep up the good work!
Love, Heather

hey everyone..just wanted to show my support for all the rest of you out there doing zt. its great to see all the positive feedback. this is probably what we should have been doing all along..but i guess no one was as ready as they are now..and that shows tremendous progress. i myself haven't gotten into a major picking session after reading all the motivational posts on day 1, but i have had a few very minor slip-ups. i haven't allowed myself to go into a trance, so i don't really even count them...but since i do them consciously.. i'm basically defeating the purpose of the zt philosophy. i need to start utilizing some of the anti-pick tactics so i don't even feel like thinking about my skin. well, let's keep this up. i hope everyone does good today! peace, marker ps. is there any way to change the password? i hate typing in all those random letters.

I had a great day yesterday. No picks at all, but when I woke up this morning (a little TEXT early courtesy of my 7 month old son) I had this overwhelming urge to pick. I picked a couple of spots on my legs, but that's it. I find that this happens a lot: after a night when I resisted a serious urge to pick, and feel good about my self, I have such a huge need to pick the following morning. WHY?! I'm staying busy today and my arms are looking good, Yeah! It's nice to read about everyone's successes. Keep up the good work!

WooHoo! Day 7! *Dances around* Im strange. I know. Its great; I can actually shower before Im ready to go to bed because my face is clear and I dont have to worry about looking like a red faced...thing! Yay. This is making it easier to not pick before or after my shower cuz Im anxious to do other things. Plus, I dont spend hours in the bathroom at night because Im all showered by 9-ish and I can just crash by 11:30; also good because I am getting to bed earlier! Oh joy. Finally...the life I always wondered about is mine, all mine. And what's better is I have a social life now...WOOO! LOL. October is always my best month...
P.S.- Full Moon tomorrow night! If you see a freak standing in the street lights howling...it isn't me...so run! GL on Day 8 everyone. I'll be thinking of all you while I'm seeing Fingertight live for the second time! Yay!!

hey penny, i've noticed the same phenomenon. if i don't pick at night, it's like i have to make up for it the next day. maybe someone who's been to a therapist can help us understand that one. xoxo

Bah. My night didnt go exactly as planned. I ended up taking my shower late and dwelling in the bathroom for hours. I picked too. Didnt touch my arms at all though which is the main thing Im worried about. I wont be picking all weekend though because I have too much going on. Tomorrow night I have a concert. Then Sat. morning Im headed to NY to see an Ansel Adams exibit with Ry. Then Sunday I go to the lake to take out the jet ski and clean it. Then Mon. back home to relax, hopefully. Tues. night a Matchbox20 concert. Plus, a meeting afterschool. Wed. Voice lesson...and next weekend I have the PSAT's (joy) and then a bunch of friends and I are going to an amusement park here in CT for some Halloween haunted...spooky...thing. It's gonna be mad fun. Here's my vow: Starting tomorrow, absolutely no picking what-so-ever! If you see me online IM me and ask me how its going because if Im distracted talking to people, I wont think about picking. Im going to leave myself reminders in the bathroom too; so for I dont stay in there too long. LOL. Grr...ahh well. Im beat. Off to bed. I have a field trip tomorrow to the Yale Art Gallery. Yay.

Incubabe- I am so jealous......MATCHBOX 20.....I absolutely love their music. I have listened to their CD so many times, I'm surprised I haven't worn it out. And there is just something about Rob Thomas that makes him so sexy!!
