I had another appointment with my counselor today and it went well. I cried a lot after I left, but it was a huge relief just talking to her. Anyways, she asked me if there is anything I could reward myself with if I go a day or however long without picking. I didn't have an answer for her. She wanted it to be something I didn't have to spend money on. She said it wasn't good that I couldn't think of anything to reward myself with. So I was just wondering if any of you guys/gals reward yourselves, and if you do, with what?

ill reward myself with a "day for me"...slippers, comfy pjs ...watch a fav movie... sleep in... anything to rest my nerves... cuz school makes me a very highstrung individual.. focus on things you'd liek to do... get some nail polish out and paint your nails... hehe make those things an object of beauty rather than of destruction... anything that you can derive pleasuer from even if its just a few cookies from the cubboard is how you should reward yourself... Reward yourself with a day of no negativve thoughts.. I've done that.. its hard as heck.. but you feel proud of yourself at the end of the day... anyway, this is just some of the stuff i do

things that don't cost money...hmm...here are a few things i do...
make myself a chai latte, my favorite
take a bath with a glass of wine or headphones
go to the bookstore and spend a couple of hours just reading and vegging out...i love getting lost in bookstores
take a long walk
doing a spa day for myself...facials, doing my nails, deep conditioning my hair
making sandwiches and going to the park with my boyfriend and puppy
i love to cook, so sometimes i'll cook my favorite meal or bake something (cheesecake!)
just a few ideas...think of the things that make you happy and just go from there :-)

Thanks for the ideas! I don't know why it was so hard for me to think of something to reward myself with. I think I will try everything you suggested! ;D Thanks again!

Pickles, Yes, I reward myself. But, actually, my rewards usually cost money. What can I say, I like an excuse to treat myself to something fun...but, in reality, something that's also practical. I've been good lately about tricking myself (in a way) towards no picking with a reward of something that I probably would've bought for myself anyway. Last week, it was Sno Seal to put on my skates. I bet you're jealous, hmm? I also will do little rewards, though. Having a few cookies or some chocolate pudding (I don't eat many sweets) or taking a half-hour off of homework time to watch something I want on TV. It's simple, stupid stuff, but it's simple, stupid stuff that feels good when I've earned it. With every post you make, I see these HUGE steps in the right direction. Congrats to you, Pickles! ;D
