it seems that most people misinterpret the word "scar". I have been doing a lot of reading and found some things out. First of all, a permanent scar will either be raised or depressed, these usually result by themselves on people with severe nodules and cysts, they can also result from manipulating your nodules (deep bumps of inflamation under the skin) and cystes (pus filled nodules under the skin). Everyday picking and popping of whiteheads/blackheads/papules (red bumps on the skin) and pustules( pus filled bumps on the skin - a typical pimple) results in post-inflammatory-hyperpigmentation which, depending on the severity, takes 1 week to 11 months to fade, perscription creams like glyquin (glycolic acid and hydroquinone) can accelerate this process as well as over the counter vitamin E. I should note that this is in now ay an exucuse because any sort of manual manipulation stresses out your skin causing internal damage which causes it to take even longer to heal, not to mention the spread of bacteria from your hands and the risk of accidently pushed the infection in deeper, resulting in more breakouts and a bigger blemish that sticks around for longer. The best solution always is to leave it alone and use the creams to fade the marks after the acne has healed on its own, not only will it have healed faster but the mark will be lighter and take less time to fade. Good luck!!
