Does anyone in here like to write? I keep a journal, sort of like a diary, and also a dream journal ( Which can be really interesting...) I also write prose and haven been meaning to write a piece on my picking... I was wondering if anyone in here wrote as well...

I used to write constantly, but since I've been depressed (more than a year now) I haven't been inspired to write anything at all, and the diary that I used to write in daily has become too much to manage. all of which makes me feel even worse.... sorry for the downbeatness of this...

Oh, how I love to write. Anything but term papers, that is. (I have two big ones coming up entirely too soon.) I write in my online journal every day. Oftentimes more than once a day. And I write in a paper journal, too. I tend to write a lot of long, involved, creative emails on a regular basis to friends away at college; as strange as it might sound, I prefer talking to people on AIM rather than on the phone...because I get to write instead of speak. I try to take some time every night to write a little bit of fiction, to escape my own world, but I find I have less and less time to do that the more this darn semester progresses. Oh! And I definitely like writing on this message board. ;D

I accidently found the csp website because I was looking for sites on decluttering. I destroyed 15 years worth of journals. I was able to let them go. They served their purpose and my needs and I let them go. I'm sure I will do it again. They are my best friend at 3 in the morning. I can vent. I can work on a life problem on paper the same way I use scratch paper in math. I can also see the progress I have made. ;D

I write too...and have actually written several pieces that touch on picking (no pun intended.) Some poems here and there, short prose pieces, and a longer short story about a kid with OCD. Actually--now that I think about it I wrote all of them my first year of college, which was over 10 years ago now! Hard to believe That was a time I was really trying to be proactive about changing my picking behaviors on my own (given that I was out of my house, staying in a dorm, and new patterns seemed possible.) I was kind of trying for something along the lines of the ZT policy I've read about on this site. It was definitely the start of big change, even though it didn't happen overnight...

I used to write all the time (kept online journal too). Lately I'm thinking of shutting down the online journal for daily basis and stick more to private journals (either the one on my comp or in a sketchbook). I've really discovered that I can't think without writing for myself. I became a big whiny mess when I slacked off on it.

Anyone who's read my posts would probably notice I'm wordy as hell. Writing's something I started doing regularly my junior year of high school (I'm a supersenior in college now). It helped me get over depression, and it'll help me get over it again. I think better when I write.
I've had various online journals for about 4 years now. I'm thinking about starting a new one and being close to anonymous. I feel a little closed off in my current online journal because I know people who read it. Prioritizing my online friends and allowing them into my thought processes I guess. I wonder if that means something. I started a ZT thread to write about picking because I need to put myself out there about it but I'm not comfortable proclaiming it to the world of people I "know" but I do think the issue needs to be blown wide open because it's something common, and we shouldn't be ashamed of it.
I also keep a private, paper journal in a sketchbook so I can mix in things that need to be drawn out (and without being so cohesive I am never able to keep up an art journal).
