Hi........I'm very new at this but I needed to find someone who understands that I can't control my picking. I hope this is the place to find that. It's a habit I picked up a couple of years ago and I am tired of little children asking me how I got so many mosquito bites. looking for a friend who "gets it". and someone to help me.

hi caree...thanks for the reply. I'm really nervous.......no kidding, right. I have no idea how this works. I'm not very computer/internet literate. do i just write and read or are there ways to "chat" directly with another person on line? I have no clue but I reallly need to share.

Yes you can just read and write about whatever is on your mind. There is a chat room on msn that one of the girls set up, the link is below. groups.msn.com/CSPCompulsiveSkinPickingSupportSometimes it's hard to catch people in there since everyone pops in and out. I think that you will find this board more supportive than anything. Everyone knows what you are going through because we have all been there before. Take a look around, don't be nervous I have to go now but hopefully I'll catch up with you another time. Take Care, Carree

another idea to talk directly to people is to get AOL instant messagner. its free and really easy to download. just go to AOL.com and the rest is kinda self explanitory. post your screen name anywhere on the board or send it to someone that you want to talk to directly and im sure that you will be able to talk to someone in no time. if you want to talk to me im my name screen name is tellohvision (same as on here) and i am on a lot late at night. im not scary, i promise (although, my spelling can be a bit scary at times). as for "getting it" youve come to the right place. we all get it a little too well! welcome aboard! -tellohvision

shell23, Welcome! Don't worry about being computer literate or screwing up a bit -- we've all been there at one point or another. Our message board isn't just for tech nerds! Hopefully this board will do as good for you as it has for me. If it does, consider yourself lucky. It'll be a lifesaver!
