Ok...movies are another passion!
Artsy-Fartsy/Indie -
Until the End of the World and Wings of Desire by Wim Wenders. Wings of Desire was re-made in to that crappy City of Angels...if you have seen Wings, you know there is no comparison. Love Slums of Beverly Hills too! Rushmore.
Clever, Complicated Plot Films -
Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels, The Usual Suspects, Go, Gambit, Strange Days, Fifth Element, Sneakers
80's films -
Sixteen Candles, actually almost any John Hughes "teen angst" flicks. Hysterical with the Hudson Brothers (one is Kate Hudson's Dad), Pandemonium, Skatetown USA, Foul Play
B&W Films -
Picture of Dorian Gray, Sabrina, Roman Holiday, Gaslight
Mindless Comedies -
Young Frankenstein, Porky's 2, Office Space
Movies that Made Me Do Research -
Boys Don't Cry - Wrote to Teena Brandon's mom after
The Mothman Prophecies - Was all that real?
Blair Witch Project - I know, this one's obvious, but I saw a sneak preview of it and really wasn't sure if it was all fake or not. Lame, I know!
I Cry Every Time I See..
The Color Purple (when the sisters are separated, when Whoopi finds the letters from Ceely, when Shug sings gospel and when the sisters reunite...bring a box of tissues!)
Mr. Holland's Opus (the "Beautiful Boy" scene kills me)
American Beauty (the end, where Lester looks at the family pic and realizes that his little world isn't so bad and he has it good...*BANG*)
and before HBO permanently put me off it...Forrest Gump...it was the irony of that evil Jenny coming back to him when she was dying. And that all his accomplishments meant little to him, but she meant the world...I got really philosophical.
Last Movie Seen in Theater-
Matrix 2, don't waste your money...my sis-in-law made me go and I picked in the dark until I could smell blood!
Movie with Ambiguous Ending-
One Hour Photo...my theory differs from my sister's...but can read it a few different ways.
Movie that was BETTER than the Book -
Hannibal...both were horrible, HATED the book...but the movie was dismally better. Ending was not the same...didn't like either.
American Psycho - The ONLY book I never finished...just couldn't get thru it, so the movie was easier.
70's Movies -
Tommy, Hot Stuff, Hot Rock, Thank God it's Friday(late 70's/early 80's, can't remember...too lazy to look up), What's up Doc?, For Pete's Sake
Good lord...this is a super-long post...better stop before I bore you to the point of picking!!!
PS- If you want to look up any of these...www.imdb.com or www.movies.com are both pretty good.
