I just got hired as a marketing intern at a company in the pro audio industry...they manufacture mics, feedback eliminators, and other audio equipment. I love it because I'm working with a bunch of old hippie guys who still have jam sessions after work. And my boss, the marketing director, often interviews the lead singers in some of my favorite bands...most recently Trapt, Endo, and Black Eyed Peas. I get to listen in on interviews and write press releases...I may stay in marketing research as a career but more than likely I will go into psychology...that's my real interest.

I am a registered nurse-but now I am a stay at home mom. I have not worked in the hospital for 5 years now. I worked in the ER and cardiac cath lab (angioplasty) in a NYC hospital. I miss it a lot. I loved working and will go back to it one day.

I'm a commercial photographer.. mainly just products for catalogs, but occasionally people wearing apparel or accessories. It sucks when I have to photograph flawless looking beautiful models with perfect skin... it makes me feel ugly...er... Especially since gaining weight. That's a real problem for me.. I try to avoid taking on the model work, and just stick to the product shoots.. not as much anxiety

I work for a large pharmaceutical company doing research, but will hopefully be going back to grad school for psych. Love both, but really want to go back to school.

I'm a performer and a teacher...I perform mostly in musicals (currently doing Kiss Me Kate in Austin, playing Hattie) and also love improv comedy.
I teach voice lessons, and sometimes acting classes as well.
Being an actress, getting a handle on the picking was even more important to me than it might have been otherwise--auditioning and performing is stressful enough without having to worry whether or not you're going to have skin on any given day!

Hello everyone, I just started posting the other day and have already found support here.
I am a writer. I actually write about beauty. It is surreal to research skin care and simultaneous pick. Recently I have had success with a project that may eventually bring me into the publc eye. This is one my main motivations for finally addressing the issue.

howdy. I'm a stay-at-home mom/substitute teacher at a middle school. mother of three. home with the 1 year old.
working a couple of days a week makes me really enjoy the other days at home. in a few years it'll be back to work full time probably.......so damn expensive to live in this part of the country.....whine, moan.....
have a few years of college and past experience with special education/office management blah blah blah...
i have no BIG ambitions in the job field, what the hell is wrong with me? i'm way too content to just get a mediocre job and make ends meat.......maybe i was brainwashed as a child...."get a job at the bank downtown, get married" yikes. old fashioned, italian catholic mentality....yuck.
thank god i have a sense of humor, 3 amazing kids, and a husband I can't seem to get enough of!
that's it! i'm going back to college...dammit, i need more education.....my brain is drying up.....see, i have a little tiny crumb of ambition, too bad it comes and goes with the wind!

well miss jane- sounds like u have more ambition than you may think at times- i think it takes incredible strength and will to raise children- that seems ambitious beyond my wildest dreams! I have trouble keeping up wiith my two cats and wonderful but also demanding husband (did i say husband?? when did i get old enough to be married? where did the time go??) Anyway- a little at a time and giving yourself some slack as well as props for accomplishing all you have in your life would be a good place to start. we all have barriers that we must face and no one can say where we should be in life except ourselves. well enough of that talk I am a quality manager for a healthcare company. i have a masters degree in counseling psychology and have worked as a counselor and a supervisor and an administrator and all that crap. i am an artist at heart and wish i had the courage to quit it all and do what i really love- but alas- i am too entrenched in my current lifestyle so i will just be sure to create in my "free time" sending much admiration for all you have accomplished. jax

Well, what pays the bills is Retail Management. I over see 25 locations, with 125+ people.
However, to answer correctly, full time husband, full time parent.
Do I enjoy the Retail work, well somedays yes, somedays no. I too wish I could be a stay at home Mom, opps, I mean Dad. However, with my degree and over 20 years with the same company, it pays too good to just live off the land, and send my wife back to the trenches.
You had to bring up that Four letter word, WORK. Eck. Just thinking about it makes me start picking. Ok, I'm on vacation, I'm on vacation, etc...
