hi guys!
ok, i know we've talked about the benefits of exercising before but it's worth reiterating...working out rocks!
i've recently started going to the gym again. i lift weights and alternate between the different cardio machines. i know some people find the gym boring but i love it. i enjoy challenging myself, it's relaxing to focus on the number of reps and sets you need to do, and best of all, it's awesome to feel and look strong!
now that i'm taking some time off to "renew" my mind so to speak, i think of lifting weights as a way to "renew" my body...i really believe in the whole mind/body connection.
my hubby and i have just joined a badminton club as well. he needs to trim down and also it'll be fun to do something active together.
what do YOU guys do to work up a sweat?

I love to rollerblade! ( though mine got stolen so its being kinda of hard to as of late ) I never really got the hang of iceskating.. my way to stoping wasy crashing into the boards, but roller blading is like gliding on cement... and it is so freeing... I absolutely love doing it!

I belong to Curves- a pretty good workout actually! I can't say its improved my picking, since most of that happens at work.

I belonged to Curves for a year...it was a pretty good workout, I just got bored with it and started to dread going. It really did not help with my picking either. I had to wear sweatpants to work out in since my legs were all picked up. I keep telling myself I am going to start working out at home...I just never make the time One of these days, I hope.....

i just started doing push-ups 2 days ago! i tried to do REAL ones but my arm strength wasn't good enough so i kept falling on my stomach every time. so.. i started doing "knee" push-ups. my brother calls them "lame-o push-ups" heh, but he can do 50 real ones in a row without stopping! i did 20 knee push ups yesterday, but now my arms are sore! i probably did too many. i'm going to start doing sit-ups soon as well.
also, i enjoy playing tennis and walking in my neighborhood. : )

Figure skating is my main physical activity, but there's all of those OTHER things I have to do to prepare myself for skating. Mostly: doing jumps off of the ice, jump roping, crunches and a TON of stretching.
If you haven't done jump roping since you were a kid, give it another try! It's really fast, really effective, and great for practically every inch of your body! Lots of skaters do this to warm up, and I was especially convinced of its worth when I realized that it was a major segment of the Anna Kournikova workout video.
I love doing crunches, 'cause I'm vain enough to love when people compliment my abs! I do regular crunches, as well as crunches with a medicine ball to add a little resistance.
I skate for 1 hour/day 4 days a week, 2/hrs day once a week. That in itself is a pretty good workout.

I walk a lot....either on the treadmill or out at a park near my house with my daughter...I know I've said this before, but it's the park from "Shallow Hal"...where Jason Alexander was introduced to Gwyneth. I love that park...there's a pond/lake in the middle with lots of geese and ducks. We've had tons of baby ducklings this year, so it's fun to feed them! I have a couple of yoga tapes...one is for weight loss (20 lbs to go!) and the other is for strengthening your back. I haven't really had the time to sit down and do them...my baby keeps me hopping! But one of these days! And last but not least, when we don't have monsoon-like weather, I go swimming. I have cool float for my daughter, so I don't have to have my hands on her the whole time. I try to do a few crunches to help lose some of this extra belly skin! Yuck! And I have some small hand weights, but I think I get a better workout lifting my baby!

I practice yoga. I have practiced since I was hit by a DUI. For the hour and 10 minutes I have to connect with the body I am picking at. It lowers my stress levels. I am so much more on an even keel emotionally. The dramatic rollercoaster would lead me to pick and be self destructive in many other ways. I am not the drama/ adrenaline queen I used to be. My picking has gone down a lot.

I walk on my tredmill everyday, it's only been a month that I've been doing it and I have lost some weight. Exercising is not just good for you, but it's also a great stress reliever.
