I had a great one about the history of crime scene photography! I watch all those shows...and now I am addicted to Court TV...Forensic Files, I-Detective and the System! I watch the ones on TLC and the Discovery Channel too...Bill Curtis...hee hee ;D Then you must go to www.findadeath.com The guy who runs it is great! He does tours out in Hollywood!

So far this summer I've read two books. Both within 3 days. I read 2 of James Patterson's books. The Lake House and Violets are Blue. Next up for me is Roses are Red by Patterson and then Nightshade by John Saul. I should start Roses are Red tonight or tomorrow and either way I should be finished by sometime after midnight on Thursday. ;D I've be infatuated with reading lately...its nice. Its actually helped some with the picking because I'll read until 5 in the morning and usually all that time that I spent reading I would spend picking or thinking of picking or whatnot. Plus it gives me less time in the bathroom in front of the mirror because Its so early in the morning and Im so tired after reading half a book that I just crash. I want to see how many books I can read this summer. My mom has tons and tons of books...all Patterson, Koontz, Saul, and Grisham mostly. A few other authors here and there but shes loyal to get favorites. I dont mind. It provides for good reading. Speaking of reading, this is turning into it's own little novel.

ok ill keep this list short, since i think i went a bit overboard on my music list.
all time favorite books:
1. "the perks of being a wallflower." by stephen chobsky hands down my favorite book. its short and easy to read. the main character is a 16 year old boy dealing with depression and life. its funny and heart breaking and amazingly sweet. i cant count how many times ive read it and i cant recommend it enough.
2. "lolita" this book is NOT over rated. it really is as good as they say. the way its written is amazing. the main character, Humbert Humbert's decline is chronicled in the increasing furiousity in the writting. it is the best written book i have ever read. a year ago i got a really bad burn on my foot and the only thing that could distract me from the pain was reading "lolita."
3. "the amazing adventures of kaviler and clay" by michael chabon. i dont even know what to say about this book. the plot is so gripping and the language is so colorful, you actually feel like you are reading a comic book. its about two cousins who create a comic book character in the 1930's.
4. "welcome to the monkey house" by kurt vonnegut. a collection of vonneguts short stories, all surreal and disturbing, each more amazing then the next. i think about at least one of the stories every single day, when i am in a situation that reminds me of something that happened. i prefer vonneguts short stories to his novels, as i am a big short story fan in general.
5. "uncle shelby's ABZ book" by shel silverstein. not your average silverstein book. ont be fooled by the cover, its not for kids! the funniest book ever! it was out of print for a long time and was reissued a few years ago with a disclaimer on the cover. go out and get a copy of this today! its the ultimate read out loud book for a bunch of friends. it pretty much sums up my sense of humor in 40 illustrated pages.
6. "look at me" about a model whos face is shatterd in a car crash and rebuilt to be still beautiful, but very different then before. her story weaves in and out of stories about a confused 16 year old girl in rockford, Illinois, a mysterious stranger with changing accents and a alcoholic private investigator. all the stories come together in the end. its such a good book, and the only book ive ever been able to "savor" limiting myself to a chapter a day, because i didnt want it to end.
ok... so i guess i didnt really keep this short or simple. sorry! hopefully some of these sound interesting to some of you!
sorry about the typos, im too lazy to edit.

i read "gone with the wind" a looooong time ago, but i really liked it. its totally not the type of book that im usually into, i like quirky modern day books, not epic historical romance novels... but its still awesome. dont worry about it being long, it goes by really really fast. dont be disapointed by the end though... it kinda ends and you are like "uhhhhhh, now what?" to cure the curiosity i read "scarlet"which is the sequal, which is not written by margret mitchelle. its basically a trashy romance novel with the same characters... but it does answer some questions and its worth reading just for the closure. -tellohvision

this is great, now i have a whole list of books to pick up to read! i'm always looking for new stuff to read...i used to work at a bookstore so i was always up on the bestsellers...a newer book that is absolutely fantastic is The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. has anyone else ever read it?? the first chapter or so is a little graphic and the book is kinda sad at times, but it's so good! i read it three times.
i read a lot of self help type books too...i heard about one from my shrink called What Happy People Know. supposed to be a really good book too. How to be happy w/o being drugged up, lol.

My all time favorite is the Clan of the Cave Bear series by Jean Auel.
I have a long commute so I like to listen to books on tape too. Recent good ones have been "The Painted House" by Grisham and "The Beach House" by Patterson. (strange they both have house in the title?)
Another good one is The Outer Banks. I forget the author.

I'm a big reader but I don't read alot of 'stories' as such, I enjoy reading history & psychology books but am open to just about anything that is educational. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy cracking a novel open periodically. I'm just about finished 'The White Dragon' which is the first installment of 'In Fire Forged' and that is a second portion of a trilogy by Laura Resnick. I also read plenty of Weis & Hickman (big authors within Dungeons & Dragons), I'm really into D&D (yep, I'm a closet geek) so I tend to stick with Sci-Fantasy when I read fiction. I also really like Wilbur Smith, more of I guy author but I really like his style.

Hey, I dont know where you all stand in terms of religion, but ABC did this special about Jesus and the possibility that he had a wife(Mary Magdalan)...There is a book called the Da Vinci Code... I have yet to get my hands on it, but i thought it sounded really interesting so i'm passing it on to you guys... also... if anyone has ever read beowulf ( one of the oldest books ever) there is a different view of the story through the monster called Grendel by John Gardner.. I just finished it a few days ago... great book! So entertaining and interesting in comparison to Beowulf (though it canbe read without knowing anything about Beowulf...) I am just in a reading mode lately...at the moment its cat's cradle by kurt vonnegut....it keeps me sane...

at the moment I'm reading 'Neuromancer' by William Gibson, as well as a book on Taoism. I also just finished 'The Bell Jar' by Sylvia Plath, which made me feel sorry for myself but relieved that I was not the main character (Esther) at the same time.

I totally hated to read as a kid and I only started reading as an adult because the power was out for DAYS and I was bored out of my skull. Now I'm one those freaks that can't stop reading the book until it's DONE! Dr. Cook is one of my favorite authors and there's another doctor who's stuff I enjoy (totally dig medical crap!) but I am not ashamed to admit that I absolutely ADORE all the Harry Potter books! It was like recapturing a part of my childhood that I never had! Only bad thing was this summer I discovered I needed BIFOCALS. Gasp! I'm only 30! Next thing I know I'll be wearing Depends while sipping my Ensure!

I read "The Bell Jar" also and thought it was pretty good. Made me want to cry sometimes because of how she felt being a woman. I read yesterday "The Pearl" by John Steinbeck. Today I will start reading "1984" because I love George Orwell books. They are so political and make me think. I read "Animal Farm" about 2 years ago and thought it told the story of Nepoleon and dictatorship good but with animals. I really want to read "Lolita" because I love russian authors. I read "Anna Korinina" for 2 years because I kept having to check the book back out and never got to finish it but finally did.
