i just found this site and im soo happy i did. i was just bored on day and i typed face picking into google. and this came up. and ive been looking through it every since. and everybody's stories are just like mine. im 19 and ive been picking for almost 4 years now. ever since high school started. :-\ ive always been worried about my looks. not so much my body but my face. i workout and im in shape. i run and workout and play sports. and not to be cocky or anything. but im not a bad looking guy. but as soon as i see just one bump on my face..not even if its a pimple. i pick it. and then i found another one. then another. then two hours later. my face looks like crap. and i feel like crap. i just hope this site helps as much as what im hearing about.
and could someone answer why i cant get registered? it keeps saying it's waiting for someone to approve it or something. :-\ thank you.

Hey Philly,
I'm new too and in the same boat as you...it's great to have found this forum!
I think we have to wait until a moderator approves our accounts before we have full access.

Good news!
I just looked at one of the new member's profiles and it says that they joined on January 2008.
So what that means is that there must be another Moderator on this Board now (a replacement of the last Moderator, maybe?)
If so, then I would still apply for membership and wait to be approved by the new Moderator.
Possibly, there are so many new "Guests" applying, that the Moderator can't keep up.
I would hang in there and wait for the registered guests to be approved.
PS: I think it took about one week for my registration to be approved. This was back in 2005, though.

Thanks Lin! It would be nice to get this board really active...I'm a member on another very active message board, and I find myself checking it everyday...this one would actually really help me emotionally though, so I'd rather be on here!

Hi Lulu, Yes, hang in there.
I think they must have had a "changing of the guards" on this board because there used to be another moderator on this site ("Anonymous" was her/his name,....I think).
So maybe the previous moderator retired and another one took over? (??)
Either way, since that new gal I looked up got approved in January of 2008, it shows that there is "somebody" on this Board that is approving the new members.
Lulu, have you tried emailing "FACEPICK"? Facepick used to post on this Board all the time & is still showing up on the main page of this Board.
Therefore, if you go to the main page, see if you can click on FACEPICK's name to see if it will let you email her/him. Is so, ask FacePick if he/she knows how to get you approved.
I don't know how else to do this.
Good luck.

Well, more good news. ....
I just found yet another "new member" on our members list and they got approved on FEBRUARY 2008! :-)
.... So that means that there is indeed a moderator on this Board approving new members after all.
Lulu, and others, I would just hang in there. The new moderator is probably so busy with all these new applications.
As I was telling somebody before, I think it took over one week for me to become approved on this Board back in 2005.

Hey y'all,
I just applied this morning, so I hope my approval goes through as well. I feel like this board could be so helpful to me.
I know it's easy to be excited at the beginning of a journey, before the difficulties set upon you again, but I am treasuring my excitement right now, and the hope that I feel.
I went out today and bought a beautiful journal in which to track myself in relation to my picking problem. On the first page I used some scrapbook stickers and put the word "heal." I also took photos with my digital camera (no makeup on) this morning and printed them from my computer and pasted them into my first day. I want to be able to see those images. It's easy to "not see the forest for the trees" or "tree," as the case may be: my pores. It is so easy to get focused on one little spot and not realize the larger problem I've created while in my trance. I didn't put these images there to make myself feel bad, just to keep myself in touch with what today's reality is (and in the future, how far I've come!)
I'm looking forward to documenting my healing and sharing it with y'all here.

Hello everybody I used to be a regular on this board some time ago. I hate to see how people get disappointed because they are not getting approved as members. The administrator of this board (facepick) disappeared long time ago (she stopped answering emails or approving members) and it was not possible to have the board transferred to someone else. That was more than 2 years ago and the board has been pretty lifeless since then. I am sorry to see you all get disappointed by this. Please don't let it set you back. I hope you will still find ways to support eachother here. You can also consider moving to the new board that a member from here set up at www.skinpicking.proboards77.com Good luck to everybody. hoppe

Txs Hoppe, I remember you from when we both joined back in 2005.
I was gone for a while (just busy w/ life) and when I came back to this Forum, it was almost at a stand-still. So I wondered why (??). (ie: Where did all the members go, I wondered?)
Well, now I know what happened.
Anyhow, I looked at the new site (posted on your link) and it looks real nice!
I will still keep coming to this site, "for old times sake", and maybe join that other site too. Both seem like very helpful sites.
Txs again, Hoppe.
