Hey everyone, I am new here and this is my first post. I am 25 and have been picking since I was in elementary school. I have tried many things to help with the scars and healing of marks I get after a long intense session of picking. (I am the kind that uses everything from fingernails, needles, tweezers, blackhead removal tools, paperclips, etc) but nothing seems to help for long. Last night I had a bad picking session on my cheeks and have been noticing more and more pitting happening. (I hate the way this feels more than picking). Well basically though Oxy works to dry everything up, the overly dry skin was irritating and caused me to pick more, it did nothing for the pitting I was feeling. So I applied some Proactiv Repairing Lotion to my face last night and when I woke this morning, my skin was baby soft and no more pitting that I could feel. Also, the redness was gone and the acne on my face was a lot less. It was great and I am planning to use it twice a day. Still have picked slightly today but feeling my skin this soft actually has caused me to refrain from picking at anything more than the dry skin still clinging. Not saying this will work for everyone, but you might want to look into it if you are having probs with dry skin and pitting. I assume the pitting is caused by lack of moisture in the skin. Also, glad to have found this board and know that there are others out there that understand what I am going through.

I use the same thing and it works wonders.... the repairing mask helps also to blot on and dry them out.

That would be very helpful - keep using it There are a variety of good products out there, but a lot of bad ones too. I have started using the Lydia Jordane range of products I got from college (doing beauty therapy) and have just got an AHA mask from them. My skin looks soooo much clearer that I don't want to mess it up by picking the sores I already have I think it's important to have both something to help prevent you picking and something to help heal. I actually might investigate getting some Proactiv - I'm doing good on the prevention side, but the healing is taking forever :/
