I just wanted to make a post for my current favorite product, Aloe Gel.
There are several benefits:
Mostly natural. Seems to help heal and clear up skin. Makes skin feel clean, and non-oily, nice to touch. Clear, so its usable day or night (I like to put it on at night). It's cheap!
I think it works better if I don't use it every single day. I just wanted to make a post because it seems to be a seasonal product around here, so if anyone wants to try it, buy it now. I had gotten a small bottle for $1 a long time ago and then when I ran out I couldn't find it so I got a big bottle this time. It seems to help me with PMS breakouts. I like the clear one (the colored ones have annoying fragrance and other additives).
Of course, if you have an aloe plant, you can always break off a piece and try it!

Using the actual plant is even better.

I agree, and I wish they wouldn't add alcohol to the gel I use, otherwise it is 100% pure, but I don't really like having to tear my plants up

You can buy the fresh gel in health food stores and the juice may work as well.

Awesome. I'll check it out.
I was reading the bottle of the one I use and it no longer uses alcohol but it does have some other additives now.

The inside of the leaf the jelly part, but only use fresh. Don't know anything about the root. When you buy it in health stores make sure the process has not used the skin because that is bad for you.

I pick my face, and also my back; can't wear slinky tops, etc. I had alot of success one summer when an herbal store made up a mixture of aloe gel, combined with essential oils -- lavender, peppermint, chamomile. I got it for sunburn but used it all summer and it eventually cleared up my back which stayed clear for a few years. It wasn't so much the mixture -- tho I think it was helpful -- as it was that I could substitute the destructive 'pick' for the helpful 'smoothing on' motion. I was working at a desk at home a lot that summer, and I kept a bottle of it by me and whenever my hands were tempted to my back I made sure they went there with the gel. You can get herb stores to make it up for you, or get the ingredients and do it at home.
