This has helped my healing process considerably, although the picking still is a problem. I use Band-Aids Advanced Healing band-aids. They are waterproof and stay on for days. They are also fairly expensive for bandaids, especially when you have to buy 5-6 boxes at a shot. They are $4-5 for 4-10 of them, depending on the size.
Anyhow, since they actually stay on through showers and since they are fairly expensive, I don't rip them off to pick. It amazes me how much faster my wounds heal and don't leave as much of a red mark. I usually use them on infected wounds on my legs, arms, and breasts.
I have spent hundreds of dollars on these things, but I think they are worth it until I can control the picking! Let me know if it helps!
