I've maintained my urge to pick (which i do unconciously by feel) to a low level by staying away from certain foods. Out of desperation for a cure I admitted the problem to my doctor who referred me to a food allergist.
The doctor who specialises in food allergy told me that there is an element necessary in your body to maintain a healthy nevous system which may be out of balance and causing this type of problem. It's called Molybdenum. He recommends I take 800mcg daily for three months. Interestingly I've since found out a great natural source of this is from tap water which I haven't drank since around the time my problem started 8 years ago. (Someone bought me a water filter at that time).
Anyways I'm going to give it a try and will keep you posted. I'd like to know if anyone has had any experience like this.
Kind regards Annie

I have no idea if it's true, but if it's working, and not costing you lots of money, then it's the results that count!
I believe I've had the same tendencies with all different kinds of water though.
