all right....this might sound pretty scary at first-but it had helped me tremendously!! i have stopped washing my face (at least in the conventional sense) i use cotton balls doused in witch hazel to remove dirt/oil/makeup. NO WATER. i wipe GENTLY until i dont see any makeup/crud on the cotton balls. then, i swab my face with a solution of 1 part apple cider vinegar to 8 parts water (on cotton balls), this restores your normal ph levels. Your skin has whats called an acid mantle, if you strip it off with excessive cleansing or products, it loses its ability to fight off normal bacteria/pathogens. however, i believe the most import factor in this method is that i cannot feel my skin. if im good , my fingers never touch my face...never feel the bumps....and therefore tend not to go insane trying to 'smooth things out.' give it a try...i did not break out when i started this, i dont feel dirty, in fact i feel much more clean and refreshed than used to with normal cleansers. good luck!

That's very interesting. I know the ear drops that alter pH towards more acidic can prevent the growth of bacteria that causes swimmer's ear, so why not on our skin?
I've also heard from a few people that after a few days of camping, expecting the worst of their skin, they found their complexion to be surprisingly clear.

'smooth things out.' Wow, this is exactly how I think about it. I feel like I have to make it smooth even though in my rational mind I know I'll do more damage. Weird eh? My picking got worse after a severe facial bout with Seborrheic Dermatitis. Anyone else have this experience. I barely picked before that.
