everyday that i wake up, i tell myself,
"I am not picking today. (and realy mean it) maby ill pick tomorow, just not today(to make it not seem so hard). no matter what happens, i am not destroying my body more today.( to remind myself why i do not want to pick anymore)"
i try to focus on a day by day method and i believe that will power has a hugest influence on this disease cuz when i was 18 i broke out on my face and it was so hard not to pick at it but i did it. i did not pick at my face for that time and it healed up! another time i got a tattoo on my shoulder and when it got all scabby it was so hard not to pick at it but that was the one place i would not let myself pick at. im not perfect and sometimes im not as strong, like when i got a tattoo on my wrist and when my face broke out about a month ago and somedays i do find myself picking after i siad my thing for the day. but it is possibleand if i could stop for those certain times in my life i can stop all of the time.
i just a read to place ur hands under your butt when u have an urge to pick which im gonna try. thanks for your time! hope my methods help!

Hello, I just want to say that we rarely find tips that really work well for some people. So I would like to share mine. Just one thing before I start: People who think that cleansing their skin, then applying 6 kinds of products on it... after a vapor bath and everything, are helping their skin are so wrong. I learned that keeping it simple is the key. Wash and moisturize daily should be enough. Spending the evening focusing on your skin and products won't help. My advice, just forget it and get a life! Here is what else is working great for me: The 30 day challenge! At first, you start with Day one. Just try for one day not to pick. Each day you pick, you go back to day one. I started this challenge many times and went back to day one several times. Don't expect it will work the first time, but try... I realized that telling the person I live with about my challenge and sticking a post-it in the middle of the mirror saying what Day I am at really helped me, because this is so humiliating to have to stick back the Day one post-it. And if you want it to work, be honest! Don't cheat, for your sake. I stick my post-its in the middle of the mirror, so each time I look at my skin, or apply make-up, I can't see myself without seeing the post-it too. (And I draw a little something different each day, something motivating or fun.) This tip works for me so far (I'm at Day 10) and I hope it will work for you guys! The skin heals so fast, after 3 days, I could see such a great difference. Now that I am at Day 10 (I have never done this good ever and this is the first time I use the post-its) I feel like I just can't stick back this f*cking Day one post-it. Good luck and don't forget, keep your cleansing routine simple and try to think about something else! Claire
