So I'm a 21 year old girl who really loves wearing dresses and skirts but I have this horrible problem picking at my legs. Sometimes it'd get really bad and I'd use tweezers or pins. Last week I broke down sobbing and told my parents my problem. I was so devastated I couldn't wear all my summer clothing and always had to wear spandex or long jeans. To help me, my mom hid all the tweezers and pins in the house so I couldn't use them. Then they took me to CVS and I got first aid cream and rubbing alcohol. So I think the first thing you should do is tell someone who can offer you support with stopping.
Secondly, find the reason why you're picking. I did it because I would feel little ingrown hairs and couldn't keep my mind off it until I plucked them out. Everytime I want to do it now, I shave my legs. Afterwards, I realize if I would've picked, they would look really awful. Third, believe you can stop, because you can! It's all up to you! Hope this helped

oh my god, im only after googling skin picking and cant believe how many ppl do the same as me! and YES i know what you mean about those ingrown hairs, my legs are always a mess! i start on my face and then when i run out of spots i move onto my legs, arms, chest and back. i feel absolutely hideous. i'd probably look ok if i just left my skin alone. i'll try the shaving my legs thing, hopefully it'll help
