I STOPPED!!!

Hi guys. I normally post at a different site.

I am 24. I have been picking/hair pulling for 17 years.
I have spent over 8,000 hours of my life mutilating myself. That is over a full calendar year, 24/7.

I stopped 4 days ago!!! I haven't even touched myself or looked in the mirror in 4 days.

If you're really ready, its easy!
I was meditating a couple days ago, and I imagined myself on a cliff face with my horrible little friend by my side. I wanted to push him off. But I realized I really loved my stupid addiction and couldn't push him off. Its a part of me, like my hair or skin color. Its me.

Then I was thinking why I should quit. I thought that if I couldn't quit and tell my story, some poor kid out there that we could never meet would commit suicide. And someone probably has .

I decided that I need to save someone's life. After that it was so easy!!! And I decided that if I can't quit, no one can. I'm going to stop for a full year just to give you guys some hope!

I have such strong hope for all of you guys, that I quit cold turkey just to prove that it can be done. I pushed the evil little monkey off the cliff. He is no longer on my back!!!

I have a little poison box necklace--Everyday I write a different name of someone I want to recover on a piece of paper it, and the number of days.

If I can quit after 17 years of BAD injury, you guys can too!!!

I really need it at the moment. I try to think in terms of a way. Up to now I have picked 2/7 which is pretty good... BUT one slip can ruin a lot. U putting my name is a motivation though. Thank you
