I'm officially starting ZT again. This will be my second go. I'm starting today but I'm not making it official until the 1st of the year. This will give you all a chance to join me. ZT was awesome last time when we had a lot of us on it. I hope a lot of you will join this time. I want to make it so a lot of us talk often so we can keep each other going. I think my email might be posted but if not its wishythewishgivr@aol.com Anyone can write me at any time if you've had a good or bad day or if you just need something to do instead of pick. I hope a lot of you will join with me again. We can do this.

[glow=black,2,300]i'm with you! same situation, i'm starting now but not making it official until the first of the year. i'm doing really well so far actually. the last two days have been a huge relief... i'm dealing with my pain instead of picking my way through it. i guess it's a sign that i'm ready to quit. my zt journal: facepick.proboards6.com/index.cgi?board=ZT&action=display&n=1&thread=2120you can count on me to be here daily, so if you ever need to talk, i'm around. it's great to finally hear from someone... i thought i was the only one around here! i know it's because of the busy holiday season though. i hope the rush is keeping some of you from picking so much... i know the hectic pace usually does the opposite for me, and i use every free moment of alone time to pick away... but not this year. i'm turning it all around. come on guys, join us in a new round of zt (my first, actually). wishing love and strength to you all in the new year...[/glow]

Incubabe, I'm with you! And 'Fighting It Everyday', your journal is so truthful - it inspires me!!! And I totally agree - awareness is key. Having someone remind you or stop you is not enough. You have to become aware of your picking on your own. I've found a way that works for me - the crazy balloon idea. It's stupid, I know, but it has really made me aware, fully aware, and now I don't even need to wear them as much and I can catch myself from the subconscious picks which always led to the full on zone-out pick fests. I'd say the balloons have helped me to cut my picking down by at least 50 % in the last month. Anyway, I'm blathering on and on here. But I'm with you! No picking in 2004.

In fact I'm doing the exact same thing with these acrylic nails, you know? Hey, whatever works for you is GREAT -- I mean seriously, NOTHING would be stupid if it can stop this! I'm working on a full lifestyle change... I realized that I was picking instead of dealing with my problems. So now I'm going to feel everything I go through, no matter how painful... actually the more I deal with all those old emotions (and new ones too), the less I want to pick. It's quite a personal revelation for me...[/glow]
