About the inactivity on the board

Hi,

I see that things are pooping out on the board, but I know that some of you are loyal to this board. If anyone is interested in starting a new board, I would come along for the ride, and/or help out. I would like a second place for OSPA to have a forum if possible, and could help moderate. Trouble is, I don't have the knowledge to start a new board. How about you Anonymous Artist? Could we co-moderate a board do you think? Or Blondie?

Other options: go over to the www.selfinjuriousskinpicking.com site but perhaps you may have reasons for not doing so.

Welcome any thoughts on the subject. Clearly Facepick is gone for good and has been since about last January.

I've been thinking about starting a new board, and maybe a web page (or pages, try to link enough to get it into Google) but I just haven't decided if I want the responsibility of it yet. I've also been feeling like having a lot of internet interaction lately. I'm sure that will change soon in the future (though I have some other projects that need to take precedence right now).

I will probably join selfinjuriousskinpicking. I posted there once before, but just as a guest. No real reason not to join. Though, I dunno. If I start a new forum, I want it to have "lighter" feeling to it. More off-topic, social posts. Support first always, but I want people who come upon the board to see right away that "normal" people pick and that there isn't some inherent flaw, so not all the attention is on picking/stopping picking (mostly because I remember just how desperate and horrid I felt about myself when I finally started to look on the internet for help with the problem, and how some of the people on this board made me feel like I wasn't a freak anymore and that was the biggest help of all).

I'm interested in tagging along for that ride if you choose to take it. Actually, maybe we can, in the meantime, start a lighthearted forum on the other site. You could, for example, be the moderator, I think, and you could probably call it what you want, I think Jane would approve, we'd have to check with her first, but she's pretty agreeable. Then later, if you decide to branch out slowly... you could do that too. I know you have been the strongest supporter of this board, and I would want to make sure you feel comfortable on the new board. You are an important feature of this whole damn thing actually. anyways you are to me.

In fact, I have an idea, that maybe you might be interested in helping with. The idea is to have a little private area on the other website that you could log onto and it would have a map of the world with interactive stickpins on it representing people's locations, and when you click on one that person's phone number would come up. It would be a call chain, and you could find the person closest to you if you needed some immediate support. And if they weren't home you could click on the next closest. And so on...

Whaddya think?

Unfortunately I don't know anything about programming that sort of thing (I know there are websites already in existence where you can pin up where you live). I am not personally comfortable with giving out my phone number online, and I also only use a cell phone and can't afford to chat too much that way.

I have also signed up, but haven't received an approval..so far as I know.

I must also admit to not having read the great majority of these posts, though I am committed to doing so this Saturday and/or Sunday. My background is in psychology, so you would think that I (or my daughters) might be exempt from this disorder. We are not. As a family, however, and me as the mom/matriarch...well, I have created and tested a plethora of coping, correcting and acknowledging techniques that have helped...a lot.

I have recently had great success with a new technique that I've tried...and I want to share it!!! Just as soon as I'm "official."

So, who is going to send me the email to make me "official?"

Hi, Given. Welcome to the boards.

What you've got to share sounds wonderful! Unfortunately, no one here seems to be able to send that e-mail out :-\ Some of us are in the process of deciding what to do about it (can't get in touch with the "owner" of the board). You can continue to post as a guest, and if you keep the same handle it'll be just as easy for people to know who you are, if you would like. A lot of people don't log in anyway.

There is another board at www.selfinjuriousskinpicking.com which you can sign up for as well, if you really want your own sn. But please let us know if you post this info there. I'm sure it would be a great read

I'm doing well, thanks. Nice to hear from you too. I have started coming back over here just in case somebody wants to work steps again. It seems to be "skin picking season" since the number of my sponsees has jumped dramatically!

it's me jane and yeh - i'm agreeable to try whatever we can do over at the sisp board (within my programming capabilities that is). i'm still trying to get my hands around what the issues people have with the board are and why they don't prefer it?

By the Way - that was the same problem that was happening with the old Save Face/About Face board - we could not gain access to the administration functions and no one would answer our emails - we tried for like 6 monthes - which is why the new board got started... It's interesting that same issue is happened here. what a bummer.

and VME - gosh i wish you would post your discovery at our other website.
