Hey everyone! It has been a long time since i've been here. I have cut back on my picking a lot-it is not really an obsession anymore-the more i control it the better my skin gets and i'm not constantly thinking about it.
Well I have oily skin and breakout in the form of blackheads-if i did not pick i'd probably have near perfect skin as i could focus on the blackheads only rather than scars, scabs etc.
I went to the doctor in June and got a prescription for clindoxyl. I hate meds though-they are so drying and don't really help me personaly since i had another hurdle to overcome-picking. I'm not a huge fan of BP either.
Luckily last week i was on acne.org and someone posted something about "Fruit of the Earth" 100% Aloe Vera, after some research most people agreed it was awsome stuff so i headed to Wal-Mart and bought some. Let me tell you it is great.
First of all, it helps with my oily skin and blackheads and doesn't leave my skin texture dry and tight and not nice to touch. And it helps with the redness and scars from before. It is a miracle for me-it takes me so little time to apply my make-up now.
Here is my regimine. Wash morning and night w/ cetaphil (sometimes i mix in a bit of st. Ive's apricot scrub). Then use oxy pads all over. Then smother my face in aloe vera. When it dries i apply curel lotion to my spots, and sleep like that if it's night time, or if it is during the day i will still put the lotion on my spots and leave it on for as long as i can (10 minutes minimum for me) then blot it off w/ tissue and apply my make-up, which now only consists of a very sheer brightning foundation/lotion from revlon and maybeline concealer where necesary and a dust of powder. My skin aint perfect-or near perfect yet but it has improved in so many ways. I have stuck with this for a week and it has improved my skin so much.
I'm sorry for the long post but i want to help as many people as i can.
I know everyone here has what it takes to get over this. I have been picking since i was in 13.
And even better aloe vera is natural, i heard the actual plant works even better if u have one. And Fruit of the Earth is 100% and only costs like $4 for a huge pump at wal-mart.
