Hi Everyone,
I was on Diane-35 for a long time, I went off in September 07. I have been getting these strange, deep cysts on my face since that. It has taken me a lot of time to figure out what it is. I started by narrowing down when I would get them. I got them after I would eat certain things.
Why ? Allergies! Allergies to the products in processed foods. Particularly soy and derivatives of soy. I have seen a doctor and am now waiting to get in to a specialist, and find out for sure which products are bothering me.
I am on a strict diet of whole foods and the difference in my skin is amazing. I still get lazy sometimes and eat something I shouldn't - I will literally get 1 - 4 new cysts within 24 hours of eating.
The reason why I didn't notice it before is because soy and other allergens cause sebum production in hair follicles - this causes inflammation and cysts to form. BUT - Diane35 is a birth control pill that stops sebum production, so it can prevent the cysts from forming even if you're having an allergic reaction.
Anyway, I like to get messages like this out there because if you have an allergy to something that causes sebum production, literally NOTHING you use on your face will stop the breakouts.
Good Luck ~M

yes, those dreaded allergies! they do exist! and they DO effect your skin! everything is connected, really what a pity those years and years where dermatologists could get a way with saying 'what you eat does not cause acne'. A LIE! just use common sense, your skin is an organ, what you put in your stomach will travel and appear in every organ...junk food is JUNK processed food has been filtered of natures best offerings and certain foods which you may be allergic too will have REAL repurcussions...i have an allergy to wheat and gluten which for me causes cystic acne, skin itching (real severe leg and stomach itching) yeast infections, etc....wish doctors or wise friends had known to help...i had to learn the hard way but i'm glad i did learn this critical bit of self-knowledge.
