Here's what has been working for me. It's a technique named Habit Reversal and it's based upon five aspects 1) Skin Picking has not its root in a deeper psychologoical desorder, but it is a strong impulse. 2) Keeping records of all the occurrences of the habit and counting how often we effectively give the habit in. 3) Increase the awareness of situational and emotional triggers. 4) Relax when we feel the impulse to give the habit in. 5) Practise a competing response (clenching fists or grasping objects) C.
