TEXTTEXTSo If I try to stop the picking I do on my face every day, ( sometimes 3-5 times) and I want to try to become pickfree, how can I do this if the pimples just keep coming up and they hurt, and your using and doing all of the right skin stuff. See for me I don't think that I would be in the mirror picking if I didn't have the zit problem. I have used pretty much everything. HMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!! Your thoughts.

I'm EXACTLY the same!! I see them so I pick. Maybe my perfectionist trait makes me see more than there actually is, but still I understand you perfectly!
What I've been using for almost 2 months is Retin-A cream - its a topical acne/face treatment, similar to a chemical peel. It's not very expensive, I've tried other acne treatments which are more expensive but don't work much.
I really recommend Retin-A. I used to have those little pore-like bumps on my skin - you can't notice them from far away, but close up you can see the bump. Anyway about 80% of those have disappeared!! And the whole time I've been using Retin-A I've been picking too.. lol can't stop, but at least I'm running out of bumps to pick.
At first your skin will be get alot worse, plus it might get a tiny bit itchy (mine did, only for 3 days though) and it'll be extra sensitive to the sun. But after those 2-3 weeks your skin will start improving by a mile! I've read that it takes about 3 months for your skin to improve by 95%
Trust me, it is SO worth it!! I worship this stuff! If you want more info, I posted about Retin-A in the Meds section of this forum Good luck!

Hmm for me it didn't really peel too much. Just those 3 days that my skin felt a bit itchy, but apart from that nothing. It depends on your skin. It'll stop eventually, don't worry! How long have you been using it for? and what changes have you noticed?

I used to use retin-A micro and eventually my skin got too dry so I just started using it every other day. I don't have bad acne anymore (maybe a combo of topical meds and not being a teen anymore) but I have the little whiteheads. What you have to realize is that no one can see the majority of these from about two feet away (step back from the mirror!) and then you can start to not feel like you're helping by picking at them. But I know it's easier said than done 'cause I'm still trying to stop too.
