yeah..so ..I'm new to this site...I have been 'picking' ever since i was 2-3 years old...( I'm now 26) i had a really tough childhood..parents were drug addicts..alcoholics..ect..I was physically, sexually and emotionally abused..was in a foster home for a short time..as a young teen found out both of my parents were HIV+...i was primiscuos...my mom didn't pay attention to me..she always favored my brother....I am very over weight..and always have been...ive been seeing a therapist on and off since i was 13..I would get punished for picking..grounded..get my finger nails cut really short..
I have never ever met anyone who was a picker like me!! my mom has trichotillimania..she just does her eye brows and facial hair...My psychiatrist thinks that this skin picking is a form of trich that is genetically passed down..i always have wanted to prove that point!
I am a compulsive picker..i usually sit on the toilet and pick...my face and boobs are the worst..but i pick everywhere..head, face, arms, legs, butt, boobs, back, lips..i will sit there and pick for an hour or more( i call it a 'picking spree')..my fingers will be all bloody..my husband gets angry at me..then i get mad at him..i get soo furious if someone tries to force me to stop..ie:pulls my hand away..its like i have to finish..i think i am the definition of insain..I pick to make it better...im a profectionest..except you would never know it..my house is a pig sty..and i am not organized at all...i think if i was forced to stop picking that i would go insain..i know that there is a medical term for that.....I also will pluck at my 'man whiskers' for an hour but that needs to be done..i cant go walking around with a beard now can i? Non of the doctors or my children's doctors have ever seen this..although my psychiatrist says he has but..i havent..soo
