Your picking site is a great service as many people with the problem don't see it as a serious disorder that deserves serious treatment. Many different paths can lead to the final outcome of a picking problem. Intriguingly, a very high percentage of pickers were picked on by others when they were growing up. It may have been scapegoating at school or the impact of critical, perfectionistic parents. Being picked on then becomes a pattern that people loyally continue by internalizing the problem and picking on themselves. I've found that focused psychotherapy, imaging, hypnosis and self hypnosis are often very powerful tools to combat this problem. Ted A.
