Looking for comments on this stuff.
Have heard mostly positive here, but went to another site called rateitall and saw everything from 'I had to have surgery to repair the scars this stuff caused' to 'love it wouldn't want to live without it.
Many said it worked for them at first but it either quit working or didn't work so well for the big blemishes.
Ruth spoke of it in raves. Anyone else?
Thanks, mi

I wish that proactiv did what it said it does. For me, it was rough for my sensitive skin to get used to. I had alot of burning itching feeling under my earlobes and through the under the jaw area. That subsides and I used my proactive faithfully. I did feel that the lotion helped to heal the scabby soars faster. Using proactive didn't make me a fan of the product, but I do know several women who use it ritually and won't be without it. I have stopped using it and add benzoil peroxide to my own mosturizer, and I'm happy with that. I know that they sell proactive in those "as seen on tv" stores in the mall. Im not sure if your mall has one of these, but it's easier to pay 40 bucks at the mall than to sign on to monthly shipments. I'm not saying don't try it, as it might work for you. But for me, it wasn't addicting enough to keep buying it.

Well I have to say that Proactive was not strong enough for me personally. I have cystic acne that scars so I needed something really strong to get in there and nuke the sukcers. It seems the most aggressive I am with my skin care medicine, the less picking I do for my skin is clear. I found ONLY one product that I see results with. I mean its not a miracle but whenever I try something else that a dermatologist gives me, my skin gets bad. Its called ABY and the number is 1-800-284-SKIN. They are also on the web.

I saw a proactiv ad and just had to try it, after spending $75 Canadian for it i am greatly disappointed. At first it worked really well and i was so happy i thought i had finally found my answer to my acne. However with continued use it totally dried out my skin and my skin started to flake off even after putting moisturizer on three times a day. My skin just became dry, irritated and the acne came back. I have sensitive skin, so maybe it could work for you, but in my case i will never use it again.

The best stuff I've found that works really well for me is Dr. Hauschka's line of skin care products. I've tried everything and been on every kind of prescription medication there is. The Dr. Hauschka products are all natural and unfortunately very expensive, but I think they're worth it. You can buy them from Sephora, either their stores or sephora.com, Whole Foods stores also sell the line. The products won't dry out your skin, but I do find that I have to use the whole line together, using just one of the products doesn't seem to do it. They do have a sample set you can buy that isn't too much, so you can see if it works.
