Hey Flower!
I have been taking Citalopram (also called celexa) Since last april. I noticed I yawned a lot and my throat felt tight when I did that. I was sort of sleepy, but after a while became a bit jittery. I started off taking 10mg per day and slowly increasing by 10 mg to finaly reaching the maximum dose at 60mg. It really helps my mood a lot, and its easier to avoid picking when there are no contributing factors such as stress. When I am stressed out, nothing but a hug really helps. I am a college student right now and I take avery full course load, so it hasn't really affected my ability to function. I find that if I take it at the same time every day, I am the most stable, in terms of energy level.
Oh, the other thing that happened is I had some bowel distress. I had a lot of gas, and always felt like I had to go to the bathroom. That went away after a few weeks, and it only happened in the evening after I ate. It went away after a few weeks but reappeared with every dose increase for a few days.
I hope everything goes well for you Flower.

I've just started citalopram...taken it for 3 days so far, and haven't had any effects yet. I thought it was making me jittery/agitated over the weekend but admittedly, that could have just been me being stressed about the medication! Who knows...I'll keep you posted.

Hi!
I was jittery too at first. We have a rocking chair, and I would sit there reading my text books rocking back and forth for quite a while. That went away as well. Oh and one night I got really obsessive over cleaning my kitchen stove. spent 7 hours, trying to get every spot. man it was clean. But that went away too.
