I have found that drinking soy milk (or eating soy products), as well as drinking yerba mate tea helps me to stop picking, for a while at least.

That's super, Liza. I love Soy, so I'm happy to know that. I will definitely try to eat more of it! Kathy

TEXT that the soy product itself is causing you to stop, reason being is that I have always drank soy milk instead of cow’s milk and eat a lot of other soy products and I am still picking through all that. Could the reason be that you are focused on another aspect of yourself and caring for your health, aiming to rid yourself of the picking habit? I have to think that we do this because of underlying issues that can be relieved by being happy and addressing our faults, such as you’re doing? Just my thoughts. TEXT

I think eating healthy is important to alleviate stress; everyone's body is different so if you are perhaps allergic to something it could make you feel itchy and anxious and pickers would pick more with those feelings. When I don't eat right or exercise I notice my urges to pick are greater. It's so funny; alot of people learn to eat right and exercise when they are young. I just have alot of catching up to do! I think then if we are stable physically we can more easily address our issues such as our feelings about ourselves.
