How to pick safely
I am not supporting picking. These tips do not support picking... Alot of us will stop eventually with the right therapy and all. But many of us will pick intil we find the right help for us. Here are some ways to safely pick and not get infections or scars most of the time. I am not a doctor, just a skin picker. You may want to consult a doctor or medical professional before trying these tips.
One: Don't pick at bumps. Wait intil it turns into a white head or black head
Two:Pop with sanitized tools. Dirty tools will make it infected.
Three: Disinfect wound with wound wipes or hydrogen peroxide.
Place a antibacetrial cream on it and then place a band aid on it.
Four: After a session of skin picking, Try a treatment of bayer aspirin and water. Make it into a paste and apply it on your arms, back and legs. Leave it on for an hour. Use a paint brush to do this. When dry, wipe a wet cloth to get the dry matter off. Put on a oil free lotion afterwards. Do this,at least, once everythree weeks.
Five: Try the two for two rule. If you pick on two zits or bumps, and nothing comes out within two minutes, do something else constructive, like biking or knitting, for the rest of the day.
Six: If using a needle to pop a zit, sterilize the needle before popping. A match from a match book will sterilize it. The same thing is recommended by health professionals when you have to pop a blister.
Seven: After popping, if you skin feels sore, pop a couple of pain relievers in your mouth and then place a cold pack on the inflamed areas.
Eight: Tweezerman.com Has a pimple extractor for ten to fifteen dollars. This safely removes junk from the pimple. This is the same tool that dermatologists use for "popping" Zits.
Nine: Aloe Vera can also be used in the process of healing infected pimples and bumps. Put this on daily and nightly.
Ten: If your zit doesn't have a head yet, don't pick at it. Place the sticky part of a bandaid over it and wait for a day or two. if it's a head, pop it correctly (see previous tips) and disinfect it when done (see N#3). Also a hot washcloth make a zit come to a head within a couple of days.
11) Dab Preparation H on scars and scabs. They will heal (if you don't pick on them) within a couple of weeks.
12)Use Rubber gloves to get rid of infections and oil. This is not too hard on the skin when you wear these. Dispose when done.
13)Use antibacetrial soap on the places you pick. Rinse when you are done
14) Put cotton or something dense and soft around your fingertips when you pick. Cotton balls work extremely well.
