Fun with my pet pig!

My "little" girl Ellie is a 500+lb Landrace pig. She's as gentle as they come and loves to cuddle! Well, she's got these big floppy ears (yes, the same ones you buy for your dogs!) that cover her eyes all the time. Last week I was lying down with her in the sun and she put her head on my lap. I was petting her face and I noticed this HUGE cyst/pimple on her lower eyelid. Her eye was practically closed because of it.

It was a pickers wet dream! (No offence--I'm a picker!) I went inside and got my best tweezers. I cuddled Ellie again and plucked the offending hair, which I presumed was the cause of the cyst/pimple, and gently squeezed.

You all should have seen the amount of stuff that came out that pore! Ribbons and ribbons of a whitish mozarella cheese-like substance. If I stretched it out it probably would have measured at least 2 feet! I even had my husband come out to see it and he was totally grossed out and left

Ellie didn't mind it one bit--and if she got pissed I would have found myself in a tight spot! After no more goo came out I cleaned it with Betadine and left it alone. Her eye is totally normal now but wow was that cool!

I'm sorry Farmgirl....I have to agree with your husband - that does sound pretty gross.

I'm sure Ellie appreciated it though!
