I've had several friends in AA and I don't think we are allowed to Join AA unless we do have an alcohol problem. It's a very personal thing for many people, and I think some would feel we're invading their space.
I think It's a great support system though and could understand wanting a group to physically go to.

I'm trying to apply the 12 steps to my problem and it's working so far. Right now I'm in phase one of recovery and devoting all my energy to recovery.
