Hey Anna! I'm in B.C.! Verry far away... It would be so nice to actually meet someone else who does this, wouldn't it?
I'm happy about your educational success! I'm just starting my first degree at 26, and I'm already looking forward to being done. I'd like to eventually get my Masters in Psychology, but I'm focussing on on term at a time. It's stressful, but I am learning an awful lot.
Ever travel to the Kootenays? Let me know. I've never been east of Moose Jaw, but I sure hope I will. Someday when I have $$ and time I guess.
Take care, Anna, and welcome to the board!
Fay

Hi Fay, thanks for the welcome. My dad is actually from near where you live I've been to Vancouver and the Okanagan, but never the Kootenays. Great to meet you. Are your summers kind to your skin? I find the humidity actually good for my picking. It keeps my skin softer and the slight tans I get help heal the dry patches *lol* Hi Sahara, I'm in Ottawa too! I just kept it vague 'cuz well, I'm wary of giving specific details online that could clue people in to my identity. I remember being 16. Feels like it wasn't long ago, and now I'm 30! How are you coping with the picking? When I was a teenager, I would write in my journal "stop icking" and I'd do personality inventories too, of things I hated about myself and it always included picking Take good care to both of you. Perhaps we'll get to meet in person one day. Are there any support groups in Ottawa that you know of?

Unfortunately, I don't know of any support groups here, but I haven't really looked yet.
it's really awful being 16 and needing to pick all the time especially since I have horrible acne that likes to flare up randomly ><. Did you have any problems with that when you were my age? Thankfully, I'm still confident in myself, and not ashamed of the scabs, so I generally don't think about all the things I dislike about myself, but I do have a bad habit of trying to psychoanalyse myself at all opourtunities, it's very time consuming.

Hello follow Canadians! I live just about an hour outside of Toronto in a city called Barrie. I'm originally from Scarborough but it's a big dirty hole now so I tend not to brag about it Sahara-I was in the same boat at your age, just a tip: start serious battling now. When I was your age I kept deluding myself and writing it off. It's probably when I did the most damage to my skin (using pins, nail clippers, tweezers, etc.). Finally, at 22 (I'm 27 now) I admitted that I wasn't going to grow out of this disgusting habit. I don't know if that'd be applicable to you, after all, you're here and looking for info was something I didn't do. I just thought I'd mention it because it was a hell of a crash back to earth when I grew up and the picking just kept on happening. I wish now that I had been more concerned and adamant about trying not to/not picking, I had no idea of what it would do to my self image down the road.

I'm in BC, in the Fraser Valley. I just joined tonight. I've been 'picking' for as long as I've been able to (2-3 years old; I'm 22 now). The only day of my life that I had clear skin was the day I was born (the day after, I had an eczema rash that covered nearly 1/4 of my face.)
I love music (especially Pearl Jam, Matthew Good, Allison Crowe, The Catherine Wheel, Manic Street Preachers, etc.), animals (recent grad from West Coast College of Health Care's Vet Assistant program), Monty Python, Star Trek - yep, I'm a nerd; I'm interested in human rights (member of Amnesty International) and current events/social studies.
Hello!

Hey Fellow Canadians! I live just north of Toronto (Markham) and have never met anyone who picks like I do. My husband's family has a cottage in Muskoka so we drive through Barrie all the time. If I could move anywhere, though, I'd live in BC... my brother and his family live there so I visit as often as I can and it feels like home. Toronto just doesn't do it for me anymore, despite all of the wonderful things about it. I am trying to spend as much time outside as possible with this nice weather... less chance to be in front of a mirror. . .! Happy Friday everyone! LML

Anyone following the Canadian Idol show? I love watching it, although I never really got into the American Idol...
I drove through the prairies a few years ago ... beautiful - not boring. I live in Ontario, and if I could move anywhere in the world it would be Victoria BC or Banff...

I live is south-western Ontario, right on Lake Huron. It's only about a 45 minute drive to the American border (Sarnia) from here.
Is anyone else following the federal election? It'll be a close race between Harper and Martin. The way it looks right now, we can probably expect a change in government pretty soon. The Liberals have over-stayed their welcome, in my opinion.
