I really believe that our thoughts are a huge part of this process.
For example, my mind just pictures me popping zits - but most of my acne is deep - and you can't really pop it. But I have this picture in my mind - the zits are popping - so I'm trying and trying to pop them and get them out.
Well, recently, I've been trying to catch myself - when I start to think those thoughts - and I know I'm dealing with a deep zit - instead try to picture something that won't pop as exisiting where the zit is. My "something" is a BB gun pellet. I know it sounds weird - but I'm telling you - when I imagine something that's not poppable - it really changes my behavior.
I really think the key here is our thought proccesses.

Hi, my name's Connie, and I've gone three days without picking. I used to stop the visualizations of picking, and I think it helped, I believe if I replaced those images with more nurturing ones, like caring for my skin, my problem would be lessened.
