Hi everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY who has the courage to post here, or even just READ... I just wanted to say how proud I am that we are all here on this site sharing/dealing/strategizing/sympathizing/empathizing/healing and otherwise bringing our voices to bear on the issue of picking. We all know what it's like to feel alone with this...trapped in bodies that we can't seem to stop tearing to tatters, even though what we think we want more than anything else in the world is that unattainable ideal: "perfect" skin. The irony being that it seems to be our own fingertips that keep pushing the dream further and further away. It seems to make no sense, yet it's so damn hard to "just stop." When I first sought professional help against the picking, I was seventeen or eighteen and it was the early nineties. There was no website like this. What a change a few years can bring! Sometimes the world seems to go in the wrong direction in the name of progress, but sometimes--people plus technology get something right. Remember...even if/when you're in a VERY dark place psychologically, which is so built into a compulsion like picking, that there in the dark are SO MANY OF US NOW. We used to be separated by silence and shame, secretiveness and miles of space, hiding behind makeup or in our clothes or under our covers or in our homes. But now, HERE WE ARE TOGETHER, in our many varied states of healing. Yes, healing--and I'm not talking so much about skin now

Thank you so much, we probably don't give ourselves enough credit.
