I was thinking last night when I had to remove my contacts to put in new ones today that maybe removing my contacts every night would be helpful. I mean, you sure can't see your face/skin up close without contacts. Hmmm. Maybe I'll do that, since I only pick at night. I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

Try that, but be careful and don't go too close to the mirror, remove them and walk away.
Someone also told me to wear a rubberband around my wrist and snap it when i want to pick, i guess that is a reminder or so.
good luck

I find I'm most vulnerable to picking when I've just taken my contacts out, but before I put on my glasses...if I lean into the mirror with my myopic extra close-seeing near-sightedness, I'm sunk.
Once the contacts are out, I say to myself under my breath "glasses glasses glasses" over and over again, until (hopefully) they're on, and I'm safe(r).

Hi I tried the rubber band on my wrist thingy...it worked for about an hour. I don't know maybe mine is worse than most people. I can't even go an hour without picking at my face. I even tried cutting myself with a knife on my leg so I wouldnt pick at my face. That didn't work either. .. I also heard that you should put an ice cube on the place that you want to pick. It burns and hurts and distracts you, I guess.

I've found that taking out my contacts makes it worse for me, too. I'm extremely nearsighted, so I have to get way up close to the mirror, which, as we all know, is a VERY BAD THING. So, yeah, if you do try this method, just don't get too close to the mirror!

I still have the affliction too but a good tip is to put the outlet night lights in your bathroom and try not to ever turn on the regular overhead light...
