hey, one thing that might help in stopping or decreasing the picking:
well my parents keep telling me that hurting others should be enought to help me stop. my mom is now complaining of getting a big cyst next to her ear, and states that its from my bleeding all over the bathroom.
the bad part is that i never think about others when i pick. any opinions? if i think i think oh look at this pus filled pimple. **wrong thinking: what i try to think sometimes is "acne is natural, broken skin is not"
any input?

For me, what has worked is actually NOT worrying about other people's opinions of me. I think worrying about other people is part of the stress that caused me to pick in the first place, so I'm just focusing on taking care of me. But I know exactly what you mean, and I'm glad it's working for you. I agree 100% with you when you say that acne is natural but broken skin isn't. That sounds like a good thought to keep in your mind when you want to pick. Take care of yourself.

-sorry I was interrupted-- ....here's my tip: If you end up allowing yourself to pick, try telling yourself that you will squeeze, but NOT break the skin. the squeezing will result in red marks, etc, but not rough scabs. This cuts down on how much damage you'll do in a session.
