Today, I popped a pimple using my nail scissors. I stuck the scissors deep into the skin and then squeezed vigorously. However, I still had the impression that it was not completely clean, so I tried cleaning the area of any white stuff I could see or imagined seeing with the scissors. The results - a hole above my left eyebrow, which looks really ugly, and a panic fear of infection, which makes me unable to think of anything else. What can I do? What shall I do? I have been doing face picking for the past 4 years, ranging from every day to twice a month. My skin wasn't bad but now it is. I am 30 and all my friends have nice, smooth, healthy-looking skin. However, the appearance is not my main concern. I just want to stop it before it endangers my health. I am so scared that I had caused/will cause an infection that will eventually kill me. I NEED help!

I'd put some Neosporin on it and maybe cover it with a bandaid if you can. If it doesn't improve perhaps a visit to the doctor for a stronger topical antibiotic will help.
I sympathize with you. I have terrible problems with picking too. It's hard for me to envision myself never picking at my face.
