Hey all, Just looking for someone with some knowledge in this area. The first time I heard about these bare minerals make up was on this board. They sound pretty great... maybe too great! So before I fork out the money to try some, I thought Id see if anyone could answer some questions! #1 Do they really cover spotty scabby bits? They're powdery - don't they get cakey or talcy looking? #2 On ebay, there are some different cheaper brands - anyone know if these products are inferior in any way? Hope someone can help me before I part with my hard earned cash! ;D Cheers, Lx

one of my friends is really into natural stuff and really likes them. I think the claims they make are a bit silly and that if they want their info-mercial to be more convincing they should really erase that blurry thing they do to the photos from the eyes and mouths of the people in them

I like them. I don't know if they will cover the scabs, but they are great for covering red spots. It's light and I don't mind sleeping in them. I got them for free from my mom though. If you have lots of red skin, I would recommend it. -sunshine-

Do Try Bare Minerals. I LOVE IT!!! My mom had it and I tried it once and was hooked. The Bisque Cover up works extremely well and doesn't melt, run or rub off. As far as the makeup being powdery and cakey, you use such a small amount of it that you cannot even tell you have makeup on. The technique is to put a tiny amount in the lid of the container, dip the brush and then tap off all of the powder from the brush. If you can see powder on the brush, you're using too much. I was convinced one day when a close friend (who Knows) said that my skin looks so great without makeup. Sold. When I told her I was wearing Bare Min. she tried it and now she loves it too.

Hey , Try it its great. I bought mine off ebay , it was like 22.00 for a starter kit. and you really only use a tiny bit. its well worth the money. When I do wear makeup that's all I will wear from now on . They also have some on ebay that are not name brand bare essentaila but work just as well.
as far as covering up scabs , I don't think there is a makeup out there that you can apply to a scab and not see the scab and then the peel/flakyness of it. But it works great covering up redness as far as if you went on a binge that night or day,

Another Bare Minerals lover here too! I got a starter kit off QVC (on line) and then when I just about ran out of that, I ordered more from dermstore.com. Wonderful stuff and it really does cover red spots and eye circles Fun to use too, and even my super sensitive, everything hurts skin, the brushes feel really good. Highly recommend it!

I havn't used Bare Minerals, but today is my birthday and my mom is buying me Jane Iredale makeup. It is also made from minerals. I read a review for it online and the person said they liked is better then Bare Minerals. The plastic surgeon in my city sells it, so it will be easier for me to get. I'll let you guys know how it works out.

I have been using Bare Minerals make-up since last Christmas. It does cover very well. I have not had a problem with it becoming cakey at all. I have to say that using any other make-up is not in my future plans. Try it. It's worth the money.

Don't know if this topic is dead and over already but just wanted to add my Bare Minerals testimony! LOVE THE STUFF!! I tried switching makeups when I finally ran out (after almost 2 years) and couldn't justify the expense on my now incredibly tight budget. Nothing else covered as well... or if it did offer the coverage, it looked so cakey on me that it wasn't worth it! I finally saved up a bit of cash and refilled my Bare Minerals. Yay!! Glad to have it back. It helps offer me SOME bit of normalcy with my skin... even on days where I wish I could just stay home all day and not have anyone see my hideous face!!!! On on the better days/weeks I get so many compliments on how great I look with "no makeup" that it's almost enough to keep me from picking ever again.
