Hi everyone,
I need help, I have been picking my skin for about 2 years non stop, before that I didn't think I had a problem. I chew the inside of my cheeks, and pick it seems non stop. I don't know what to do, I looked into it a while ago, and the only thing out there to help seemed to be Paxil the medication, or behavior modification. The problem is I start picking and sometimes I don't even realize I do it. I need to stop, I will start picking even while at work and my skin will start to bleed. If anyone can please tell me what to do, I need to stop I am getting really bad scars. I am also an insulin diabetic so my sores don't heal quick at all, plus I keep picking at them so they don't heal for that reason either.
Sorry for the rambling, just trying to find some help.

Kim,
Welcome to the boards. Take a look around some threads and on the other sections and hopefully you will find some good tips. Everyone here is trying to stop and I know posting on the boards has helped me, so stick around. It's a good place to find support. I'm still trying to stop completely myself. But there is lots of hope. Even just lessening the degree to which you do it can make a difference and can be a first step. Don't try to be perfect in stopping because it may be a perfectionist mindset that got you here in the first place. You might want to try keeping a journal (some of us have them in the zt section. zt stands for zero tolerance, but there's no rules for posting there.)
