HI, MY NAME IS STACY. I HAVE BEEN PICKING SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL. THE WORST HAS BEEN THE LAST 9 YEARS. I AM NOW 27 YEARS OLD, I HAVE SCARRED MY BACK, CHEST, AND FACE. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON PRESCRIPTION MEDICINES THAT HAVE WORKED? I NEED TO GET SOME TYPE OF HELP B/C IT IS ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE, NOT BETTER. I HATE LOOKING AT MYSELF, I DON'T WANT TO GO OUT IN PUBLIC. DOES ANY BODY HAVE SUGGESTIONS ON TREATMENTS THAT HELP WITH SCARS ON THE BACK AND CHEST.

Hi Stacz
Deep breath, okay? I also have scars on my chest that I am dealing with. One thing that helps is using lots of moisturizer so that I am too slippery to pick. Otherwize, I am having success with Celexa (Citalopram) 60mg/day, and Seroquel (Quetiapine) 100mg, 3xday. Stick around, it sounds like you could use some support. By the way, you and I are the same age!

Hello!
A couple things that have worked well for me have been Retin-A Micro and Mederma. The Retin-A for controlling the acne, but it also smooths the skin and lessens the scar, but the Mederma is just for scars. Retin-A is prescription, Mederma you can get at the drugstore. Another thing that works is to realize that nobody is ever going to be looking as closely at your skin as you do, so other people will never see it the same way you do.

Stacy, Yes I agree it's so nice to have this and know you aren't the only one who has the problem. I would suggest getting help from therapy before looking to medications...but that's just my opinion.
