What are these things?????

I KNOW what you are all talking about -- those awful and EVIL white tubey-white-thingys!!
My daughter first got them. She's a "picker", so that's when it got really bad. Then I started getting them--mine aren't exactly like hers, but very similar. I scratched my cheek and that's all it took!! They multiplied!! They were painful as HELL--unless you are lucky enuf to get the "tubey-thingy" out!! And THAT just isn't a simple task, either. The timing is key or they WILL NOT come out!! I first had them on my L. cheek, then my forehead, and then my R. cheek. My forehead finally healed and my L. cheek healed. My R. cheek healed, too, until it flared up again--that was almost a year ago. It's STILL a mess!! It doesn't matter if I mess with it or not. Those evil things just get worse. And it hurts--to even lay my face on the pillow!! Yes, I know you aren't supposed to "pick", but I get to the point "I DON'T CARE" -- I just want them ALL OUT!! I'm 64 years old and have never had this before. My daughter thinks hormones have a lot to do with it, and since I live with her, eventho I'm done with menopause, that bcuz we are 2 women living together that our monthly cycle is alike. I'm not convinced of all that. I just know that this SUCKS!! I'm too darn old to be having this crap!! I can't believe there's not a doctor or someone who has identified this problem--AND tried to fix it!! It is SOOoo depressing, SO debilitating, SO nasty!!!! I just can't believe no-one has addressed this?!?! There's got to be something that can be done. I'm SOOoo sick of it!! Tomorrow I'm calling a dermatologist and making 2 appts.--one for each of us!! My daughters face is ruined!! I know she's got a picking problem, so do I, but THIS?? It's ridiculous!! There seems NO HOPE for us!! Except to live with it and quite frankly I am DONE with it!! My daughter DID go to a dermatologist a few years ago with skin issues and the Dr. & the nurse made fun of her!!!! They actually laughed at her!! Real professional, huh?!!! She reported it. Nothing came of it. It WAS the Dr. himself who laughed, so no surprise there.
Please know that you are not alone!! You will all be in my
thots & prayers -- and I will be praying for a resolution to this awful and degrading condition. If you need to talk, I will listen~

I suffered for over 15 years and I've the scars to prove it. It was like a bite inside the bump. Very painful. I'd put scalding hot, clean washcloth over large one and then make very light circular swipes over it and the white things would roll out. I learned that in last couple years.

Around the first part of April this year I had three monster sores going on. One in corner of my mouth. The one on the area between chin and cheek was agony. I was to point where only relief was holding an ice cube directly on it.

My husband has a rash on his knees and behind them. He's gotten many different medications to apply to this looking for one that's effective. In a frenzy of desperation, I went thru every tube in bathroom. All of which was like rubbing fire on it. I realize this is not the best idea, but when Vaseline burns, drastic measures need to be taken. I pulled out a calm looking white and beige tube. Very non threatening. I was prepared to wash it off instantly. I dabbed it on and I was in tears immediately. It was relief. It soothed it instantly and I'm ok admitting there was loud, messy sobbing. I thought it was a fluke, but it wasn't.

I had researched this for so long and heard it all from cystic acne to cancer to bugs. When I searched instead for painful sores on chin, I hit on RINGWORM. Chin ringworm follows that the outer perimeter stays infected with sorta soft center. Same family as athletes foot, jock itch, but doesn't have the classic ring so much. I don't remember why, if even a reason was given. It did say antifungal cream anywhere from 2-4 weeks. I walked around with that tube in my pocket. For the first time in over a decade I don't have a weeping, scabbed, painful wound on my face. I no longer mutilate my skin chasing white things that, under a microscope, are quite terrifying. Think of the movie Tremors. I stopped using microscope. I'm not 100% certain it's ringworm, but I am convinced this stuff kills it. Gently and painlessly.

My face is clear.

The tan and white tube is simply Tazorac (Tazarotene) .1% cream. It's not noted for treating ringworm, but acne. I believe it's ringworm or even a mutant parasite before acne at it's most severe. Acne doesn't act like this. When you've pulled out a plug and it gushes blood like a stab around from a tiny hole and all you know is tearful relief, it's not acne.

Having found something after so long with this pain, embarrassment and fear,that even comes close to controlling it, much less eradicating it, I'm not going to over think it. I'm ready to put past me.

I hope you find the relief and know the joy of leaving the house without a pound of makeup that does nothing to hide it.

The sores healed, but the white things still had to come out. They healed with them visible right where sore closed. I continued applying cream and they became itchy. A pointy tweezer soaked in alcohol to prevent spreading gently poked at it and they feel right out. Felt like popping a little blackhead at worst. Just thought I'd let you know that in case you see them and think it's ineffective.
