So, I'm trying real hard not to pick at my face. I'm doing good and it looks great. Now, I pick more on my chest and shoulders! I can't win. I'm not really quitting, I'm just displacing my picking. I figure since my shoulders are covered right now, it's okay. But in a month when I want to wear a tank top, I'll be so mad. grr...

Well one step at a time I suppose... going cold turkey is pretty difficult, so maybe its not a bad idea to stop one area at a time. Im a face back and chest picker. I think that I will try only to pick the skin round the side of my chest, where noone can see. It sucks not to be able to wear nice tops, and Ive been so bad recently, that my coller bones are all red and swollen spots. Now even a simple t shirt reveals too much of the bad skin!

My advice is to cut back on the face picking but don't pressure yourself. Whatever you do don't start picking a place where you haven't had a problem before to make up for it, because then you'll have yet another area that you can't stop picking. It'll only make it harder in the long run to stop altogether.

hey i started picking and biting my arms when i was younger..managed to stop that then picked around and at me nose which moved on to my forhead, which then moved on to my cheeks..now i dont pick at my face unless im mega mega stressed but now its moved onto my legs big time! But i never now touch my arms at all and rarely touch my face so maybe after combatting a part of a body you never go back to it?! not sure!?

Well, in my case I never really got over one part of the body (though I do significantly less on my face, and probably everywhere else thanks to this board) and by moving to others without stopping one entirely I would end up adding to the problem. Now I'm pretty close to being an all over picker.
