Lissa, I want to take this time to welcome you to the group. I saw your web site for eating disorders and I like it. I have a problem with food but I don't really have anorexia and bulimia. I do have an obsssesive compulsive type of thing with it, along with borderline personality disorder which encompasses problems with food. Basically, I don't eat a lot, and when I do eat normally, I throw up.

Has anyone experienced any positive/negative effects on lexapro or luvox? My doc told me that they are no longer prescribing luvox. it is not off the market, i wonder why?

Hi, I was on Luvox a few years ago, and it was one of my worst experiences in life. I had panic attacks, dizziness, and it triggered my Restless Leg Syndrome. I now take Celexa which is a less fancy form of Lexapro. Side effects are tight throat and diarrhea . That stuff only lasted the first few weeks, and came back a bit every time I increased my dose. I now take the maximum dose of 60mg per day. I think it has really helped my ability to be conscious about my picking, and my ability to (sometimes) talk myself out of it. I average about 20 minutes per day, with some days being longer than others. I also go to an awesome counsellor for CBT and visualization. Did that help? Fay

If lexapro is the same as celexa. Then, yes, I am no lexapro - 60 mg/day.
Also on seroquel - 100 mg/day
Clonazapam - can't remember the dosage
Imovane - 7.5 + 1/2x7.5/day
I am not sure which meds is causing it, but my short-term memory is "out to lunch"
Just in case you didn't know, one side effect of ALL anti-depressants is ANXIETY - at least that's the info. guide I got from the pharmacy.
Hope something here helps.

P.S. One more thing:
if it's true that one side-effect of anti-depressants is ANXIETY, then MAYBE anxiety can cause PICKING???
